The Cape Winelands region of South Africa lies in the green farm valleys just North East of Cape Town and has long been known as one of the finest, quality wine producing capitals.

The Cape was originally founded as a refreshment stop and following this trend has become a hub for visitors from all over the world. People looking for a place to relax and unwind, taking in the leisurely air the Cape Winelands exudes. The region is famous for its wine, wine tours and estates, (visiting one is an absolute must) however there is so much more to explore too. The area also boasts a wide variety of other attractions such as, regular events and festivals, fine dining, top class accommodation and internationally recognized health resorts and spas.

Not only are the wines, food and attractions as diverse as the people, culture and landscapes, but the natural splendour and general tranquility of life in the winelands rejuvenates the mind, body and soul.

Hermanus Flower and Eco Fair

When: 30 Sept - 3 Oct 2010
Where: Hermanus, Fernkloof Nature Reserve
Price: -

"Not even rain on the first day could dampen visitors’ enthusiasm for the spectacular flower show designed and executed by Chelsea experts this year. The magnificent photo of Sculptured Corner, taken by chairman Pat Miller, was blown up into a backdrop of mammoth proportions and set the tone for a professional but superbly natural flow of flowers and streams.

Word soon got around that here was a show worth seeing and visitors streamed into Fernkloof Nature Reserve at the weekend. The Eco tent with its sustainable living input was a new venture as was also a smaller presentation tent for demonstrations and talks.
More than R60 000 was raised for environmental purposes and the indigenous plant nursery made a record R30 000."
