South Africa's brandy industry is world class and attracts many new visitors each year. Many connoisseurs and novices alike have discovered that the region has definitely no shortage of top rated and award winning brandies to discover and enjoy.
The botanical gardens are one of the most beautiful and tranquil places to visit in Stellenbosch. They boast with a unique and wide variety of plants including; a glasshouse for tropical plants, herb garden, rock garden, waterplants, Cape flora, Japanese garden and bonsai collection. Entry is free and there are benches under the trees where you can relax and enjoy nature. There is also the Katjiepiering restuarant in the gardens that serves light lunches and salads.
Not up for a traditional tour of the winelands? Explore Stellenbosch, it's wine farms and quaint side-roads at your own pace. Hiring a bicycle or mountain bike is an excellent way to see the area while doing something a little bit different and keeping active too.
